Anyone out there?

I opened a webpage in May 2003, with the intention of having an artistic project. Due to an prolonged decline in creativity I didn't update it as much as I should. What really got my thinking going was that once I actually made some entries and expanded the site no one came around and absolutely no one made an entry in my guestbook. Well, the guestbook did get some entries but 90% of them were spam. It wasn't even that kind of spam that is mildly amusing.

ATTENTION: RAMBLE POINT (part 1)

A long time ago I had a webpage on xoom, another attempt at an artistic project no one in particular was interested in. My guestbook however was filled with amusing spam. Some entries were to a fanpage for the polish mafia, other to a page about some washed-out English soccer player. My guestbook on my new site, (this one) was quickly filled with spam about viagra and other not so amusing entries. Even the spelling was horrible.

END OF RAMBLE POINT (part 1)

Anyhow, I continued to tinker with my webpage and have actually made some updates and additions. That is extremely rare for my, I'm usually horrible at making updates.

And now, my idea for this English version for my site. First thing first. Nothing at all on this site is in anyway a translation or even a version of the swedish site. This part of the site stands on its own.

I you haven't lost interest now, (90% problably has which make this a bad webpage in a lot of ways) please go on...

What if the web was compromised of the same amount of webpages as today, but with absolutely no one commenitng on them? People would visit the pages just as much as today but not writing in guestbook, not mailing and really not take contact with anyone. Email would vanish, guestbooks, forums and the like as well. No one would contact anyone but every webmaster would still update their pages. For what reason anyone would update their page without any kind of feedback is beyond me. We all need some comments on time or another.

Still, the idea intrigues me. A world wide web, but no one communicating on it. Only monologues. Now, this particular site will likely reach the same destiny as my other pages. Extraordinarily few visitors (beside myself making occasional updates) and not many guestbook entries...

More rambling might appear later. For now, just imagine it... 2008. Schwarzenegger as president. Demolition Man might have more foresight than it gets credit for. More yellow hair on Wesley Snipes!
